Welcome to Ladders! We’re excited to have you here. By signing up to our programme, you’re able to access a vast range of support and guidance to develop your career in Music, Film and TV or Software Development (such as Games). We’re here to help you, so don’t be afraid to ask questions, we’re all really nice, promise.
Creative Courses (Next course starting September 2017)
There are three creative and digital courses to choose from, so take your pick from Music, TV/Film or Digital Media (i.e. software development like games and such). Our 8 week (part-time) courses are designed to develop sector knowledge, skills, talent and abilities of all participants. The courses will include skills development workshops, masterclasses and guest speakers who will take you through their specialisms to give you a first-hand account of what a career in their field can offer you. There will also be days dedicated to tours of major creative and digital businesses in the region, giving you a behind-the-scenes and exclusive insight into the inner workings of venues, studios, agencies, stores and other creative and digital enterprises.
Enterprise Support (From April 2017)
If you have a business idea you’d like to pursue, then look no further.
You can access a selection of creatively delivered enterprise group workshops & one-to-one support from people who’ll help to make sense of all the complicated stuff.
The Ladders enterprise support package will be offered to all participants from the Creative Courses. This will target those who wish to pursue a freelance career and/or develop their own business ideas.
Employability Support (From March 2017)
Employability support comes in the form of the Reducing the Skills Gap programme. Participation in this course will help you to develop your work and sector relevant skills. Through the employability pathway, you’ll be supported into progression routes with personalised support, connecting you with employment opportunities. If that’s not enough, you’ll also gain City and Guilds endorsed Mozilla Digital Badges to recognise your achievements and demonstrate your employability.
Pastoral Care (On-Going)
You’ll also be able to access one-to-one support to supplement your involvement with the Ladders creative courses, or you can just sign up to a clinic if you’re interest in becoming involved with the project. The content of the clinics can include the following:
- Organisational skills
- Time management
