Hi, I’m Lee and I am the Creative Enterprise mentor at TICE, joining the team in the Autumn of 2015. I am delighted to be working with TICE students across a range of programmes to encourage creative thinking and entrepreneurial ideas with a view to inspire and consider potential enterprise opportunities within the creative and digital industries.

I have a marketing business ‘Amanda Lee’, based in Whitley Bay, North Tyneside to offer small business start up advise, business coaching and assist with marketing strategies and social media, writing press releases and business plans.  I’ve recently created and facilitate a new marketing campaign #ourwhitleybay to help positively promote the businesses and services of Whitley Bay, connecting business owners with those who live and work in the town through the power of a light box and hashtag! (Facebook @ourtownwhitleybay)

This follows a career spanning 20 years within retail, sales and marketing.  Working as a Womenswear Junior Buyer at Debenhams head office, within marketing at North East Lifestyle Magazine and TwinsUK, an associate lecturer in Fashion PR at Northumbria University and managing a large North East team within Jamie Oliver’s direct selling Jamie at Home business.

I’m most proud however of starting a business ‘Amanda Lee Lingerie & Swimwear’ aged 22 after recognising a gap in the market for specialist products for ladies who had undergone breast surgery. I won several industry awards: Drapers Record, North East Business, Shell Livewire & HSBC and once could have been called a ‘Young Entrepreneur’, even popping down to Buckingham Palace for afternoon tea with the Queen & speaking on behalf of small businesses in the Houses of Parliament!

When I’m not helping people with their entrepreneurial dreams I love walking along our wonderful North East coastline and supporting local businesses through the excessive drinking of lattes!
