My wonderful Silver Stage Graphics experience by Kristian Healey, Hebburn
I was delighted this morning as I woke up to remember that today was the second day of TICE Silver Stage. The previous day involved me learning and developing my understanding of Photoshop and advertising. I designed a new flavour of innocent smoothies and even used Photoshop to create an advertisement for my drink. I enjoyed that day, however I much preferred the second day!
Today was the best day for me. Firstly, we received talks from two people. One was called Tim Wilson who work for Atomhawk, a designing company who has created concept art for games and movies such as Mortal Combat X, The Order.1886 and Guardians of the Galaxy. We were also spoken to by Alex Davy, a creative woman who works for the animation company, Arcus Studios. Being spoken to by these wonderful people really opened my eyes to more jobs within graphic design. After the talks, we walked around the Northern Design Centre and talked to two companies who worked here, they were very informative and helped us understood more about what goes on here. To finish the day, we had to brand our name based on our personalities.
The staff were wonderful and helped out massively not only by donating their time, but also coming up with fun ways of educating us about jobs within graphics. Hopefully I will move onto the gold stage to further my knowledge of graphics and see the staff again. No matter what happens, I have had a great time and I owe a huge thanks to all of those who helped out.
